Reviews 'Music for Pleasure'
"Knox may be the name of an
unflavored gelatin, but it's now also the name of a musician of the
highest order, who creates a wonderfully complex assortment of people's
pop music and who will, with any luck, be paying the rent by doing so
for many years to come."

West Seattle Street Festival Praise!
We had a great time at the festival. Here is a little feedback on
the show.
"I saw your performance at the West Seattle Fest. Pleased to see that
your music is good live too! You have a pleasant stage presence that's
charming and wholesome--kind of like watching a cute younger brother
perform. It's great to see people like you following their dreams.
I think there's a deep wisdom in your heart that has done a fantastic
job of leading you toward your life path so far. Keep listening to
it--life is too short not to. I enjoy your music. I will
definitely give your CDs as gifts to my friends. Thank you for sharing
it with the world. You can add me to your mailing list and hope to see
your at more venues. Smile, Dao".

great set at the Fremont Fair in 80 degree sunshine!
Much to our surprise the audience asked for an encore so we gave them a
rocking rendition of "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is" Look for
photos soon in the gallery.
TOST Showdate
Cancelled
I see a trend. TOST has cancelled the July Showdate and is moving
to an all DJ format. It's all so sad.
UP
Fest. Cancelled. Look for rescheduling
We are not exactly sure why it was cancelled but about a week before the
June 2nd date the production company unfortunately had to cancel the
show. Rumor has it they are planning something in the coming
months instead. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Knox delivers 'Music for
Pleasure'
Upon "Music for Pleasure's” release in 2005, Knox had been playing the
stripped-down, folk-tinged rock card to excess. With his first release,
it seems, the multi-instrumentalist’s diverse influences have presence.
By using a more Brit-pop approach to his catalogue, Knox has created a
noteworthy first album. Despite the sunny quality and catchiness
of most of the songs, Knox's words set the tone of the album, and the
listener soon realizes not to trust the lyrical voice, as on "Baby!
Baby! Baby!" and "Rendered." The album's centerpiece, however, is
"Asleep at the Wheel," featuring a dissonant guitar section that just
may be the most transcendent musical moment of the record. It's
surprisingly consistent mix, too. From the drum-driven first track "I
Want to Take Your Money and Run" to the brooding closer "Shall I Drive?"
everything here is outstanding. Read More

Flying Lion Performance a Ball
Knox and the band assemble for a performance at the Flying Lion Cafe, Feb. 3rd 2006.
Brian Moss and Vanessa Constance both contributed selections
along with the talents of Brian Oaks, Jeff Brumley and Mark Pendolino.
"It was one of the most loose live crowds in recent memory", recalls
Knox. "It was fantastic to see how many kids came out as well"
Check out the Pictures.
Sounds Like .....
Now that Knox has put a new cd it's a bit easier to pinpoint his sound.
With the feedback we have gotten so far we developed the following list:
Ryan Adams, Whiskeytown, My Morning Jacket, Neil Finn, Elvis Costello, The
Beatles, Jay Farrar, Paul Weller, Lyle Lovett, R.E.M.,
Paul Westerberg and the Stone Roses. Why not contact us and share your
view.
Sitting In With Brian Moss
Knox opened for Brian Moss at the Flying Lion with a short set of
acoustic originals. In the set list for the first time was a new
number entitled 'I Don't Need Another Reason to Cry Over You'. Former
band mate David Boyd Watkins joined Knox and Moss for a classic rendition of
'I Want To Take Your Money & Run. It was just like old times.
Rocking Over at The Rainbow
We had a super turn out over at the Rainbow. Knox, Brian Oaks,
Jeff Brumley, and newcomer Ken French (drums) played about a 50 minute set
of rocking Knox originals. 'It was great to see the Playdate crowd
come out and support us', said Knox. 'They really seemed to get into
the show. It was fun.'
Music For Pleasure
Live in Alki
It was an incredible show! Knox and
the band performed to over 250 people at the Alki Beach House in West
Seattle. Many thanks
go out to all the many people who helped put the show together and make
it a huge success.
Knox Rocks Jazzbones
Knox, Oaks, Ted Cooke and Carl
Martin rocked Jazzbones in what was their best performance to date.
The crowd was lively and in the mood to sing-along. We should have
pictures available shortly in the gallery.
A Second Album in the Works
Things sometimes take unexpected turns and the recording process
certainly seems to have. Find out about 'Songwriters Almanac'.
The Extraordinaire -
A Short Film
Knox's jumpy action packed song "I Want to Take Your Money and
Run", has been featured in the short film directed and produced by Ladon
Yahzadal entitled The Extraordinaire. It's a story about love and
the pre-conceived expectations people can have about each other.
"It was all done locally here in Seattle which is nice, and I think the
song was featured with the lead actor singing the intro at the top of
his lungs" - Knox.

Rock Paper Scissors receives Knox in good hands.
The Sylvester Road
EP
Back in 1999, Knox and his band
recorded a live studio EP at the Sylvester Road Studios in Seattle.
It consists of four tracks which include It Won't be Me, Shall I Drive,
Asleep at the Wheel and Hold on to Me. After the initial session,
the tapes were lost or forgotten about until April of this year when
Knox found them in a mysterious box entitled 'Sylvester Road Tapes'.
They were then mixed and mastered by Knox and then released. A limited short run of this cd was
pressed and quickly sold out. There are not plans at this point
for another pressing - but stay tuned, we may feature them in Media
Downloads shortly.
